This series is a volumetric exploration of form and shadow, in order to develop and expand the vocabulary of Sean’s form language. He builds up forms in plaster, working spontaneously, configuring elements in relationship to one another. Then in a secondary process, he refines and shapes the assemblage in a slow, meditative ritual of reduction. This sculptural formula is quite enjoyable and thought provoking, as it has proven to be a very productive generator.
