Biography
Sean is an award winning creative, whose innovative work crosses boundaries between sculpture and design. His distinctive pieces are the result of his sculptural methodology, driven by his radical approach to developing form. Throughout his work, regardless of scale or medium, you can recognize his iconic organic form language and memorable modern patterns, textures.
He has always had a keen interest in exploring the possibilities for altering the shapes of nature; how these forms can visually communicate the unspoken word. He believes that there are undefined universal shapes that are able to touch us visually, regardless our culture and background.
Sean O’Hara was born in the Philadelphia area in 1973. He graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1996. After RISD he pursued graduate studies in Vienna, Austria.
Currently, Sean balances his time between two studios, located in the Philadelphia area and Java, Indonesia.
